Passei um final de semana muito animado e feliz. E não fui só eu. Todas as pessoas reunidas em Caxias estavam celebrando. Pelo reencontro, pelas vidas de cada uma de nós e, principalmente pelo motivo da viagem.
Fomos assistir a defesa da tese de doutorado da Fernanda, minha prima que é bióloga, madrinha da Rafaela, que considero mais que uma irmã. Foi comprido, mas muito emocionante.
Vê-la falar com tamanha naturalidade de coisas tão específicas foi demais. A tese tinha 300 páginas, ela argumentou com a banca, composta de sumidades da área que ela atua no Brasil.
O Aldo, um de seus orientadores, acompanhou de perto, emocionadíssimo sempre.
E ao final, depois da banca se reunir, decidiram por unanimidade das o grau máximo para ela, e torná-la assim, Doutora em Biotecnologia.
Todos nós que ali estávamos, orgulhosos e emocionados, presenciamos mais este degrau que ela avançou e que, cremos piamente, será só o começo.

We assist in the defense of the doctoral thesis of Fernanda, my cousin who is a biologist, godmother of Rafaela, which I consider more than one sister. It was long but very exciting.
See her speak with such things as naturalness was too specific. The thesis was 300 pages, she argued with the examining board, composed of leading area that it operates in Brazil.
Aldo, one of his mentors, followed closely, always thrilled.
And at the end, after the examining board meeting, unanimously agreed to the maximum degree to Fernanda, and make she so, PhD in Biotechnology.
All of us who were there, proud and thrilled we witness this further step forward and that she, firmly believe, will be only the beginning.

A Doctor Among Us
I spent a weekend very excited and happy. And not just me. All the people assembled in Caxias were celebrating.
